OUR STORY

1970

The Khrome Werks story began when Jim Preisler was hired by a local motorcycle shop in Minnesota with the responsibility of engineering a line of proprietary motorcycle products.

OUR STORY

29% stake of Pine Plating Company in Pine Island, MN acquired.

Remaining portion of Pine Plating Company acquired and became what is our home today. We still operate out of this facility.

Jim Preisler takes charge of the company as President and COO.

Through the leadership of Preisler, the company decides to focus solely on manufacturing and distribution of its line of motorcycle accessories.

The Khrome Werks brand is born.

We ceased operating as Pine Plating and renamed the business DS Manufacturing.

This period consisted of some ups and downs coinciding with the economy, but through a portfolio of high quality parts and good leadership the company enjoyed stable earnings and developed a reputation as a preeminent supplier for aftermarket equipment for Harley-Davidson ™ motorcycles. In 2014, Jim Preisler retired. 2015 Company was acquired by Lincoln Industries out of Lincoln, NE. Lincoln Industries is not unfamiliar with the motorcycle industry as they are a key O. E. component supplier to major motorcycle manufacturers. Preisler was retained under contract to advise on new products.

2015 -PRESENT

DS Manufacturing name was retired and our company continues to operate under the leadership of Lincoln Industries. Today Khrome Werks makes the finest products available to the motorcycle aftermarket supplementing Lincoln’s contributions to the industry as an O. E. supplier.

50 state emissions compliant replacement parts for 2009-2016 Touring models and 2017+ Touring models when used with factory catalytic converter equipped head-pipe. PADS Custom black vinyl covered Low- boy sissy bar pads are recessed on the back side and wrap around the bar when installed. Each custom vinyl covered custom pad features a chrome wrap around mounting bracket, custom mounting plate and button head screws.

UPRIGHTS The original Lowboy, introduced to the motorcycle industry in 1972. Stylishly formed from 9/16” square steel bar, featuring a highly pol- ished chrome plated finish. Limited models available with a durable gloss black powder coat finish. Four-screw sissy bar upright/side strap mounting system with ex- ternal button head screws for easy removal. See the Side Strap section of “Sissy Bars” to determine proper width required for your application. Khrome Werks sissy bar side straps feature a four-screw mounting system with external button head screws for easy removal of upright. We fit most current H-D models. Side straps feature high polish, duplex nickel chrome finish and limited models feature a durable gloss black powder coat finish. Made in the USA from 11 gauge steel.

This warranty shall be limited to the repair or replacement of the product, which may be proven defective under normal use. We will not warranty any product that has been abused, mis- used, improperly installed, or modified. Dealers or distributors are not authorized to make dispositions binding upon Khrome Werks. We will not be responsible for any labor charges incurred in removing or replacing any system under warranty. All returns must be accompanied by a return authorization number, a copy of the purchase invoice and transportation charges must be prepaid. Parts being returned without a return authorization may be refused at our receiving docks.
