1970

The Khrome Werks story began when Jim Preisler was hired by a local motorcycle shop in Minnesota with the responsibility of engineering a line of proprietary motorcycle products.

29% stake of Pine Plating Company in Pine Island, MN acquired.

Remaining portion of Pine Plating Company acquired and became what is our home today. We still operate out of this facility.

Jim Preisler takes charge of the company as President and COO.

Through the leadership of Preisler, the company decides to focus solely on manufacturing and distribution of its line of motorcycle accessories.

The Khrome Werks brand is born.

We ceased operating as Pine Plating and renamed the business DS Manufacturing.

This period consisted of some ups and downs coinciding with the economy, but through a portfolio of high quality parts and good leadership the company enjoyed stable earnings and developed a reputation as a preeminent supplier for aftermarket equipment for Harley-Davidson ™ motorcycles. In 2014, Jim Preisler retired. 2015 Company was acquired by Lincoln Industries out of Lincoln, NE. Lincoln Industries is not unfamiliar with the motorcycle industry as they are a key O. E. component supplier to major motorcycle manufacturers. Preisler was retained under contract to advise on new products.

2015 -PRESENT

DS Manufacturing name was retired and our company continues to operate under the leadership of Lincoln Industries. Today Khrome Werks makes the finest products available to the motorcycle aftermarket supplementing Lincoln’s contributions to the industry as an O. E. supplier.
